If you like a bit of aristocratic eccentricity and some insight into the lives of the English upper class (which can be hugely entertaining) then this is for you. Anne Glenconner was a childhood friend of royalty – and later became Princess Margaret’s Lady in Waiting. Born into great wealth, she also married money – lots of it but her husband was given to tantrums (some were truly spectacular) and serial infidelity. She was a complete eccentric and lived her life in both luxury and in squalor, lost two sons, and then absolutely everything when her husband left his entire estate to a member of staff.
